After spending waaaaay too much time in front of computers at college I decided to travel the country doing research outdoors. My favorite projects always involved trees - managing non-native trees in MD and FL, studying photosynthesis rates in trees in MN, mapping tree communities in North Cascades Nat’l Park in WA, and surveying beetle and fungal damage after wildfires in Eastern WA.

I spent 5 years working for tree companies in Seattle, WA and Ithaca, NY before deciding the time was right to start my own business. I believe trees bring a lot of value to our lives and properties; my vision for Thirty Pines is to help preserve trees whenever possible while keeping the places we live safe from hazards.
